Pinksummer goes to Rome

It has been a pleasure for us to accept Ilaria Bozzi Ferri and Flavio Ferri invitation to occupy for a season their space at Via del Vantaggio 17/A in Rome, within the gallery residence program called Gate.
The Gate program, started in 2015 with Viennese gallery Emanuel Layr, with which we have in common the artist Plamen Dejanoff, was conceived by the collectors couple, already supporting contemporary art through Fondazione per l’Arte, active in Rome at via del Mandrione, aiming to help making the local contemporary art scene international by inviting in Rome some international research galleries, not working with any artist already represented by local galleries in Rome.
As a matter of fact, pinksummer does not feel like being “international” in Rome. Indeed, being from Genoa, a city with a more and more stubborn insular attitude, not in terms of cultural scene per se, but more for what concerns transports and infrastructures, we wish the Capital do not make us feel too disoriented and “foreigner”. However, a daily flight connection Genoa – Rome is guaranteed by Alitalia, even though at a cost that would allow you to fly over Machu Picchu with the modern advantages of low cost flights, almost unknown within the Ligurian administrative center. Therefore, with the hope to meet at least the requirement of being a research gallery, Pinksummer Goes To Rome will start in October with a solo show by Tomas Saraceno, of which we will tell in an upcoming press release.

Pinksummer’s season in its venue at Palazzo Ducale in Genoa will keep its course as usual.
