Anna Scalfi Eghenter (1965 Trento, Italy) lives and works in Italy. Working at the intersection of sociology, law, and the visual arts, their practice does not produce decorative objects, but critical devices that challenge the norms of civil coexistence. Through installations and performances, Scalfi Eghenter manipulates the boundaries of property and bureaucracy, transforming the audience into an active political body.
Among their most significant projects are Collectors Anonymous, which applies support group methodologies to the art market, and the Jurisdictional Gymnasium, where physical activity becomes a metaphor for the exercise of rights. With a background spanning from Management to Fine Arts, the artist has exhibited in numerous international contexts, such as the Berlin Biennale and MAXXI.

[A work shared among multiple collectors who own varying shares of the square elements of which it is composed; as such, every owner of the undivided work is defined as a “communist,” as the work spells out in its entirety. Each frame establishes ownership of a portion of the work, and each collector can acquire multiple neon units, which together will constitute the corresponding percentage of ownership of the entire asset in “Communio pro indiviso”.]
